Use command STRJRNOBJ to monitor data area and data queue changes.
To start data area and data queue journaling
1) Logon to IBM i server.
2) At the Selection or command prompt, enter STRJRNOBJ.
3) Press F4 to prompt the command. The Start Journal Object (STRJROBJ) interface is displayed.

4) Complete the following fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Object | Enter the data area or the data queue name you want to monitor |
| Object Type | Enter one of the following: *DTAARA to monitor a data area object *DTAQ to monitor a data queue object |
| Journal | Enter the journal in which to store file change data |
| Record Image | Enter the type of images you want to retain Tip: Enter *BOTH to retain before and after images. |
5) Press Enter.
